As a security company that utilizes general aviation services we were surprised to see that FlightRadar24 is down today.
We first noticed that no flights were being displayed and then we noticed their tweet that they were under attack.
Accessing the service from mobile shows that they have purchase Cloudflare but that doesn’t appear to have solved their DDOS dilemma. We can only guess that somebody didn’t like that fact that they are broadcasting ADSB signals from satellites or that some hacker out there simple doesn't like them. Time will tell! We will update when we have more details, in the meantime we will utilize our Stratux box and carry on!
